Thanks for clicking on my page!!

A little bit about me...

I received Jesus in my heart at the age of nine (9)
at First Baptist Church of Ballston in Arlington, Virginia.

Reverend Olney Moody was the Pastor. My sister walked
the aisle with me that Sunday night to receive Jesus as well.
Jesus is my first love and He is everything to me!!

I fell in love with Southern Gospel music at the age of 13, when I
heard a group called The LeFevres, at that very same church.
They had come to sing for a Sunday morning service and I was
HOOKED. They had a sound that I had never heard before and they
were singing about my hero, Jesus! The Lefevres came back to our
church several times over the years and I can remember a time they
sang in the morning at our church and then had to travel around the
Beltway to a church in Maryland for a service that evening.

Well, a friend of mine, Gary Reinhart and I had helped pack up equipment for the LeFevres
after the service that morning and our families and we were all going to Maryland that night,
so Gary and I were asked if we would like to ride on The LeFevres' bus.
You KNOW we did !!! We thought we WERE somebody !!!
This love gave me a desire to sing Southern Gospel music,
but I never pursued it, until April, 2009.

Anyway, one day, I saw a man, David Heath, that I had
worked with several years ago and he told me he had a Southern
Gospel group and needed someone to play drums. I told him I would
get in touch with him, but never did, mostly due to my work schedule.
About a year later, David sent an e-mail out to many on his contact list
looking for people that might be interested in singing.
I replied, telling him that I was interested in singing and he invited me
to come over to his house to try out, with David and his wife, Hazel, listening.
David asked me before I left that night if I would like to sing in this group
and I gladly accepted. I sing mostly bass and baritone, but occasionally
tenor (depending on the song) and some lead. I learned harmony parts
by listening to my mother singing in the choir at church. I could pick her
voice out and separate it from the others (she sang alto). I believe this
gave me an even greater interest in Southern Gospel music.
I do not brag or boast about my ability to sing, but give only God the
glory and credit for the gift he gave me to use for His honor.

Here is a photo of the group that inspired me to sing Southern Gospel music.
(I found it on Scott LeFevre's Facebook page)
I hope you don't mind Scott!!!

Alphus LeFevre is in the middle top, the two ladies are
(L) Michelle Davis and (R) Karen Peck. Scott LeFevre
is at the bottom and Mike LeFevre is on the far right.
Unfortunately, I don't remember the names of the rest of
the group.

Alphus has gone on to be with King Jesus.

Karen Peck has her own group now:

Mike Lefevre also has his own group:

Scott LeFevre is the founder and president of The Warehouse,
http://thewarehouseministry.org,
an outreach mentor-ship ministry of youth and young adults and he is an ordained Minister with the Church of God.

And now for the answers to my questions...LOL
