The ultimate goal of Crossing Jordan is to win lost souls for the Kingdom of God. In doing that, we are always prepared to walk a person through the steps of accepting Christ as their personal Savior. Here is an easy way to turn your heart over to Him: 1. Admit that you are a sinner. By doing this, you are telling God that you are not greater than He is. The world is a very tough, harsh place. There are worldly things and there are Godly things and the worldly ones can bring you down very quickly. 1 John 4:4 says, "greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world." Just like a drug or alcohol addict, admitting that you have a problem is the most important step, but the most difficult of them all. Conquering this step is the "ice-breaker" for the entire process. Simply tell Him, "Lord, I know I am a sinner, and I know I am not living as I should." We are all sinners, so please don't think that you are alone in this admission. 2. Ask for forgiveness. Ask The Lord to forgive you of all of your sins. You have acknowledged that you are a sinner, as is everyone. By sincerely asking Him to forgive you of those sins, He will wipe your slate clean. This is not a "one-time" thing. This needs to be done on a daily basis. Regardless of what you may think, you sin each and every day and by asking Him to forgive you of those sins, you are allowed to start the next day anew. By saying to Him, "Lord, please forgive me for I know that I have sinned," you are granted another chance. That is the great thing about the God we serve, He is a God of second chances. 3. Read the Word. If you don't have a Bible, it would be a great purchase to go to your local bookstore and get one. Reading the Bible is important to leading a Christian life. The Bible tells stories of unconditional love, obedience, trust, mercy, grace, sacrifice, and many other topics that will help you to stay on the right track. You don't have to read a certain amount, but it is good to sit down and read a little each day. This will help keep your mind fresh and wanting to read more, therefore you will want to learn more about the walk that you are taking. 4. Find a good church home. If you have been going to church and have just recently given your heart to the Lord, continue going to that church or visit other churches until you find one that suits the needs of you and your family. Going to a church that you feel comfortable at is very important. If you have kids, you may want to find one that has good programs for kids and balances your needs as well. If you don't have kids or they are grown, search for a church that makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Going to a church that you feel you are not being Spiritually fed at can cause your walk with the Lord to become stale. ***Making the commitment to begin a personal relationship with Christ is the most important decision that you will make in your lifetime. It is the decision that will allow you to know you will have life after death. Remember that John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." WOW!!! Talk about sacrifice. Could you give your child up for the well-being of others? We are given an opportunity that many other religions don't offer...eternal life! You see, 2000 years ago when Jesus was hung on that cross and arose three days later, it was for us. That one event has changed the world forever. ![]() ![]() |
